Even if you missed those ads with the ernest burlap backdrop talking about how real and good Starbucks is, perhaps you heard of the ‘bucks’ transition to health food? They aren’t serving acai-goji lattes just yet, but they are pledging to eliminate high fructose corn syrup and expand real fruit and organic options. Check out this summary.
I just got a breakfast sandwich at Starbucks today and it was on a whole wheat roll! They never gave me that option before…
Disclaimer: I hardly ever go to Starbucks because I am saving my cash for other diversions, but when I do go there, I always get their breakfast sandwich which is suspiciously similar to my childhood standby the Egg McMuffin. And I always ask them to take the bacon (or in this healthy case, the turkey sausage) off. And then they throw it away and I think, that bacon (or turkey sausage) died for nothing…
Hee hee. I, too, hate it when my bacon dies for nothing! Coffee places do that with cups if you bring your own mug sometimes–the barrista makes the latte or whatever in a paper cup, then obediently pours the contents into your travel mug. But still, I can hear the distant creaking of a paradigm shift!
Thank you for useful information.
