Tables turn for food writer

Rhea with a good luck card and Crossroads t-shirt

(This is adapted from my Examiner.com site. I will shut up about Crossroads soon–really!)

Readers of this farmers market writings can probably sense that I get into the topic. Lately, I took that a step further. My story about the Crossroads Farmers Market (and another and another) got me inspired, and, well, I became news myself!

I decided to run part of the Marine Corps Marathon as a fundraiser for the market and its Fresh Checks program. I put out a challenge, got carried away on race day, and yesterday ended up the subject of an article in the local Gazette.

Thank you to everyone who contributed, and who reads this blog. And thank you to all of you wonderful Washingtonians (and Marylanders and Virginians) who support local farmers markets!
